Introduction

Hazlemere and Widmer End Good Neighbours is a registered charity (Number 1072527), dedicated to providing affordable, safe and accessible transport services for elderly people in the local area, who find public transport difficult due to age or disability.

Our volunteer drivers use their own vehicles for transport.  Details of the charity’s work, including information about how to make donations can be found by going to: About Us and Fundraising.

As part of our service Good Neighbours also use our own minibus to provide transport under Section 19 of the community minibus permit scheme. We take elderly and disabled residents from their home or local sheltered housing on regular shopping trips to local supermarkets, and run journeys to day centres, theatres and other social outings.

We provide our services to both individuals and community based organisations located in the areas of Hazlemere, Widmer End and Holmer Green.

“Good Neighbours Transport gives the Homeowners at Hughenden Court independence.  It allows us to have trips out to the theatre, pubs, restaurants and also weekly shopping at the supermarket. The drivers are very caring and helpful, especially to those who are less able.  This service is a lifeline to those who live alone. It gives them the chance to get out and about and enjoy socialising with others.”

House Manager, Hughenden Court

“I have some difficulty walking any distance, so the minibus shopping trip to Park Parade is my only trip out during the week and my lifeline. The drivers are all so friendly and helpful and bring my shopping door to door. The trip also gives me a chance to socialise with others in a similar situation to myself, and I would be lost without it.“
