Volunteering

Your Community Needs You

We have 60 clients on our register who rely on this scheme and who are extremely grateful for our help. They have no transport of their own and find Public Transport difficult due to age or disability.

Volunteer Drivers

We are dependent on our volunteer drivers and always looking to recruit new volunteers.

If you had three to five days notice, could you spare time to give someone in the local area a lift to and from the Doctors, Dentist, or Hospital Appointments, in your own car. There is normally no need for any special insurance cover, only a notification to your insurance company.

Office Support

Can you spare a few days a month for our helpline ?

If you had 2 weeks notice, could you operate our helpline between 10am and 1pm on a weekday in your own home? Calls are re-routed to your phone on the particular day of your choosing. This could be as little as once a month, but always a date chosen by you.

Please help your community and come and join us in this very worthwhile scheme.

Please ring and have a chat to either Pam Johnson on 01494 714994 or Lynne Pearson on 01494 718202.

Or would you be interested in driving our minibus ? its not difficult and if you are over 25 and under 70 you should be able to drive it under your current driving licence. We will provide training and support, so if  you have a clean driving licence and can spare a couple of hours a fortnight, you could help provide a valuable and rewarding voluntary service in community. Please contact Peter Pearman on 01494 711570 or use our contact us page.

Committee

We occasionally need new members to join our management committee and help us run the organisation. You don’t need to be one of our drivers or office support volunteers to join us. You will find we are a very friendly group and the commitment isn’t great as we only meet 4/5 times a year.

We look forward to hearing from you.
